Apex Legends’ Drew McCoy leaves Respawn after 10 years

Drew McCoy, one of many authentic builders of Respawn Entertainment, is parting methods with the studio.

McCoy, who most not too long ago served as an government producer for the corporate, has been with Respawn because the studio’s founding in 2010. He is leaving the studio to “find new challenges,” in accordance with a submit on Twitter.

“Today marks the start of a new adventure for me. I will absolutely cherish the last 10 years I spent helping start Respawn and ship some awesome games alongside amazing people,” writes McCoy in a tweet. “I’ll miss the people the most – the daily arguments, successes, failures, and everything inbetween.”

“For those asking, I decided after ten (14 if you count the IW days) years it was time for a bit of a break, and to find new challenges.”

McCoy’s resume is full of AAA titles, from Titanfall and Titanfall 2 to Apex Legends. Prior to becoming a member of Respawn, he labored at Call of Duty developer Infinity Ward for 4 years.

The studio is fairly busy as of late, engaged on quite a lot of initiatives together with a frequently evolving Apex Legends, a brand new albeit delayed Titanfal game, a Medal of Honor FPS VR game for Oculus, and Jedi: Fallen Order 2.
