Another Saw sequel announced

Reports indicate that a new entry in the Saw franchise is currently in development, with original series creator James Wan returning to produce.

The film will be helmed by director Mike P. Nelson, known for his work on “Wrong Turn.” The screenplay is being crafted by Gregory Weidman and Jeff Vlaming, writers for the “Dune: Prophecy” series. While specific plot details and a release date remain under wraps, the story is expected to revisit the twisted traps of Jigsaw, the notorious serial killer John Kramer, portrayed by Tobin Bell.

Since its inception in 2004, the Saw franchise has become a horror staple, with the tenth installment arriving in 2023. Collectively, the films have grossed over $1 billion worldwide. Although “Saw XI” was initially slated for a September 2024 debut, Lionsgate ultimately scrapped those plans and canceled production.
