Analysts Estimate First-Day Sales of The Witcher 3 Remaster
The release of the updated version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt attracted new players.
The remaster of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released on consoles and PC in late September. CD Projekt RED released it as an update, so current owners of the game did not have to pay extra since they only needed to download the patch.
However, not everyone had managed to add CD Projekt RED’s hit to their collection, and the release of the remaster prompted some players to make a purchase. Analysts from Alinea Analytics noted a rise in the player count for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt across various platforms:
According to our platform DAU [daily active users] statistics, the remaster of The Witcher 3 reached approximately 2.4 million daily active users on Steam (48.6%), PlayStation (40.4%), and Xbox (11.0%). This is more than 10 times higher than its average DAU value for this year.
According to Alinea Analytics’ calculations, 130,000 copies of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt were sold across these three platforms (Xbox, PlayStation, and Steam) during the first 24 hours:
This is the best single-day result since the game first dropped to $3.99 on Steam in the summer of 2024. It is currently priced at $24.99 across all three covered platforms.
According to the analysts, total sales of the game have already exceeded the 66 million mark.
This weekend, the peak concurrent player count for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt set a new record with over 123,000 users.
