Venom is making a leap to the world of animation. The iconic Marvel anti-hero is slated to headline a standalone animated film, as initially reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
The project will be helmed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein, the directorial duo behind Final Destination: Bloodlines. Tom Hardy, who brought Eddie Brock to life in Sony’s live-action trilogy, is also expected to be involved in the production. As of now, specific plot details are being kept strictly under wraps.
The live-action Venom franchise debuted in 2018, followed by a 2021 sequel and the 2024 trilogy-capper, The Last Dance. Collectively, the three films have been a massive commercial success, grossing over $1.7 billion at the global box office.
