At Aftershock in Chandler, Arizona on August 16, electronic music powerhouse Alison Wonderland shared the stage with basketball icon Shaquille O’Neal and his Bass Allstars.
The 7’1” former NBA MVP playfully lifted the 5’1” DJ off her feet during the set, a moment she immortalized on Instagram here.
“DJ who plays basketball, DJ with basketball in her belly = DJ holding other DJs’ belly like a basketball. It’s simple math,” Wonderland quipped.
This year marks a double celebration for Wonderland: she’s expecting her second child this fall and gearing up to release her fourth studio album, Ghost World, on October 3.
“Not only are you getting a new album, you’re getting a new sibling,” she teased in an earlier Instagram post here. “Creating in so many forms brings me boundless joy.”
Since making history as the highest-billed female DJ at Coachella in 2018, Wonderland has sold out seven shows at Red Rocks Amphitheatre and headlined stages at Lollapalooza, Tomorrowland, Electric Daisy Carnival, Ultra, Bonnaroo, ACL, and Life Is Beautiful. Her sophomore album, Awake, debuted at No. 88 on the Billboard 200.
She has amassed over 1.1 billion career streams and sold more than 800,000 tickets across U.S. tours.
Ghost World was co-written and co-produced with Dylan Ragland (Party Favor, SIDEPIECE) and mastered by Dale Becker (Billie Eilish, SZA, Doja Cat). It features the lead singles “Get Started,” “Again? Fuck.,” and “iwannaliveinadream.”
