Alan Jackson to Headline ‘Where I Come From’ Tornado Benefit For Georgia Hometown

Alan Jackson will headline a June 26 benefit concert, “Where I Come From,” to raise funds for his hometown, which was impacted by spring tornadoes. The show in Newnan, Georgia at the Coweta County Fairgrounds will find Jackson performing three decades of hits according to a release.

Tickets for the show go on sale on Friday (May 21) at 10 a.m. ET here. The benefit will help citizens of Newnan, which was hit by a powerful EF-4 tornado on March 26, destroying at least 70 homes and damaging many more in the city where Jackson and his wife Denise were born, raise, met and married.

“After the tornadoes came through Newnan I knew that I wanted to do what I could to help my hometown. I started working on an idea to do some kind of benefit in Nashville to help those affected in Newnan, but then heard from a group of leaders in Newnan,” Jackson said in a statement. “I’m glad we came up with a way to bring this show to my hometown…and I’m happy to be helping the people who need it most.” Special guests will be named soon.

Proceeds from the show will benefit the Coweta Community Foundation. Jackson recently released his first new album in six years, the 21-song Where Have You Gone, and performed a medley of his hits at last month’s ACM Awards.
