I have long been a fan of the inventive and energetic titles produced by developer Aerial Knight, so I’m always eager to see what they have in store next. Their latest reveal, Aerial Knight’s MrFreezy, might just set a new standard for the most bizarre premise in puzzle-game history—and I am absolutely intrigued.
The official Steam store page for MrFreezy offers a delightfully jarring summary: “Play as a woman who’s an axe murderer, who kidnaps men, locks them in a basement, and decapitates them (in this light-hearted puzzle game).” While we have seen no shortage of light-hearted brain-teasers and plenty of dark, serial-killer-themed titles, the fusion of these two polar-opposite genres is surely a first.
You can catch a glimpse of the madness in the trailer below:
Aerial Knight’s MrFreezy is launching on PC on September 1. September is notoriously packed with high-profile releases as developers scramble to dodge the looming shadow of Grand Theft Auto VI’s November debut, but this unique concept is one I’ll certainly be prioritizing in my queue.
