As the summer festival circuit winds down, there’s still one standout event on the horizon — Global Citizen Festival returns to Central Park this September, and organizers have just unveiled an impressive slate of new co-hosts to amplify the occasion.

On Thursday, September 4, Global Citizen announced that Adam Lambert, Bill Nye, Liza Koshy, and Danai Gurira will join previously confirmed emcee Hugh Jackman for the benefit concert on September 27.

The organization also revealed an esteemed roster of guest speakers — including Kristen Bell, Tony Goldwyn, Laurie Hernandez, Nate Burleson, and Vladimir Duthiers — and added Latin star Camilo to the performance lineup.

Earlier announcements confirmed The Weeknd and Shakira as headliners, with performances by Tyla, Mariah the Scientist, and Ayra Starr. Shakira shared her enthusiasm in a statement: “I’m honored to headline the incredible Global Citizen Festival in Central Park this September. I can’t wait to perform, unite, and inspire action.”

For fans unable to attend in New York City, the full festival will stream live on YouTube, Apple Music, and Apple TV on September 27.

This summer, Lambert garnered acclaim for his portrayal of Judas in a three-night run of Jesus Christ Superstar at the Hollywood Bowl, starring opposite Cynthia Erivo. In an interview with Billboard, he praised Erivo’s trailblazing role and encouraged audiences to embrace the bold choice of a Black, female Jesus.
