Lizzo is feeling new as hell, as the pop star finally announced her first new single in two years, “Rumors,” will be released later this month.
The three-time Grammy winner cryptically teased something was coming on Monday (Aug. 2) by writing on Instagram, “Don’t even like this post cus you REALLY gon like my post tomorrow.”
“NEW ERA BITCH. ‘RUMORS’. 8/13,” she wrote underneath the highly anticipated post of the golden goddess putting her diamond-encrusted nail to her pursed lips in a “shhh” stance to copy the emojis in her caption.
Lizzo released her breakthrough album, Cuz I Love You — which peaked on No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and delivered Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping singles like “Good as Hell” and “Truth Hurts” — more than two years ago. Her new single “Rumors” will be released on Aug. 13 via Atlantic Records.
She’s slated to perform at multiple festivals this fall, starting with Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival on Sept. 4, where she will make history as the first woman to headline the Tennessee-based four-day fest. Lizzo will also perform at Global Citizen Live on Sept. 25, Firefly Music Festival on Sept. 26, New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival on Oct. 8, and Outside Lands on Oct. 29.
