Red Hot Chili Peppers: Unlimited Love [Warner]

Unlimited Love marks the official return of guitarist John Frusciante to the Red Hot Chili Peppers, having last recorded with his long-time associates on 2006’s Stadium Arcadium. (The band’s previous album, 2016’s The Getaway, featured Josh Klinghoffer on guitar.) The boys of Red Hot Chili Peppers return to their freewheeling, fun-seeking selves with songs that highlight their musicianship alongside Anthony Keidis’ enduring love for outrageous wordplay. Alabaster dePlume: Gold [International Anthem]

Jazz saxophonist and poet Alabaster dePlume encourages kindness and care on Gold, his first new solo album since 2018’s The Corner of a Sphere. With a subtitle of Go Forward in the Courage of Your Love, the album reckons with the discomfort and rewards of vulnerability. DePlume assembled the record from long improvised pieces that he rearranged and stitched together.
