Nominations for the 73rd annual Emmy Awards were announced Tuesday (July 13), and Framing Britney Spears, Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry and Bo Burnham: Inside each received multiple nods.
In a live broadcast, father-daughter duo Ron Cephas Jones (This Is Us) and Jasmine Cephas Jones (Hamilton) revealed this year’s nominees in key categories, including Bridgerton‘s Regé-Jean Page for outstanding lead actor in a drama series and The Crown‘s Olivia Colman for outstanding lead actress in a drama series, to name a few.
In the music-related categories, Bo Burnham‘s Netflix comedy special Bo Burnham: Inside — which features the original songs “Welcome to the Internet” and “All Eyes on Me” — snagged nominations for both outstanding music direction and outstanding original music and lyrics. Meanwhile, the buzzy documentary Framing Britney Spears (The New York Times Presents), which put a spotlight on the #FreeBritney movement, was nominated for outstanding picture editing for a nonfiction program and outstanding documentary or nonfiction special. Moreover, Billie Eilish‘s Apple TV+ documentary Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry received nominations for outstanding sound mixing for a nonfiction or reality program (single or multi-camera), outstanding sound editing for a nonfiction or reality program (single or multi-Camera), and outstanding music direction.
