Nostalgia takes center stage this New Music Friday as a familiar icon returns to the spotlight—though we haven’t quite slipped back into the mid-2000s.

Commemorating two decades since the debut of the Disney Channel phenomenon that ignited her career, Miley Cyrus revisits her legacy with “Young You.” This poignant adult contemporary ballad serves as a sophisticated evolution of her original sound, offering a reflective look at reconnecting with one’s inner child from a place of maturity.

The boundary-pushing RAYE explores a similarly vast emotional landscape on her vibrant sophomore effort, This Music May Contain Hope. Following four Grammy nominations, the singer-songwriter delivers a sprawling 17-track journey. Led by the standout “Where Is My Husband,” the album features a breathtakingly diverse roster of collaborators, ranging from cinematic legend Hans Zimmer and soul pioneer Al Green to her own grandfather, Michael, and sisters Absolutely and Amma.

Fresh off his Super Bowl national anthem performance, Charlie Puth unveils his latest project, Whatever’s Clever!. The album is a collaborative feast, featuring appearances by Ravyn Lenae, Coco Jones, and Hikaru Utada. Meanwhile, Swedish pop visionary Robyn makes a stunning return with Sexistential, and alt-pop sensation Melanie Martinez finally delivers her long-awaited Hades LP.

The Friday release slate continues to impress with new full-length projects from Courtney Barnett (Creature of Habit), Elmiene (Sounds for Someone), and Central Cee (All Roads Lead Home), alongside fresh offerings from NEEDTOBREATHE and Justine Skye.

On the singles front, the legendary Angélique Kidjo teams up with Afropop star Ayra Starr for the mesmerizing “Aye Kan (Are You Coming Back?).” Zayn provides another glimpse into his upcoming Konnakol era with the atmospheric “Sideways,” while country mainstay Thomas Rhett provides a soulful rendition of “Georgia on My Mind” for the 2026 Masters Tournament. Additionally, Conan Gray expands his Wishbone era with “The Best,” the lead single from his recently released deluxe edition.
