In an exclusive announcement from Billboard U.K., legendary rock band The Killers have been confirmed as the headliners for the upcoming UEFA Champions League Final Kick Off Show, presented by Pepsi.
This high-energy performance is slated to take place on May 30 at the Puskás Aréna in Budapest, Hungary, providing an electrifying prelude to one of the most-watched sporting events in the world.
Established in 1955, the UEFA Champions League remains the gold standard of European club football. For this year’s spectacle, The Killers are expected to deliver a career-spanning setlist, featuring timeless anthems such as “Mr. Brightside.” Global fans can catch the live broadcast through local television partners or via UEFA’s official YouTube channel.
“When we were approached to lead the UEFA Champions League Final Kick Off Show, the decision was immediate,” The Killers shared in an official statement. “Certain stages possess an undeniable aura, and we are privileged to celebrate the world’s elite players and teams during what promises to be a historic evening.”
The Las Vegas-born rockers follow a lineage of prestigious musical acts who have graced the pre-match stage, including Linkin Park (2025), Lenny Kravitz (2024), Camila Cabello (2022), and Dua Lipa (2018).
The 2025-26 tournament is currently in full swing, with the final contenders to be determined in the coming months. This season follows a dominant performance last year by Paris Saint-Germain, who secured the trophy after a resounding 5-0 victory over Inter Milan.
Eugene Willemsen, Chief Executive of International Beverages at PepsiCo, highlighted the synergy between the brand and the band. “Pepsi MAX has a long-standing tradition of merging major cultural milestones in sport and music. Through our Pepsi Football Nation platform, we are thrilled to welcome The Killers—one of the most influential rock bands of the 21st century—to the stage in Budapest.”
Willemsen added, “We are excited to partner with a group that mirrors the vibrant spirit of Pepsi MAX. We anticipate an unforgettable performance at the Puskás Aréna that will resonate with football and music enthusiasts across the globe.”
