Sons of Anarchy Star to Play Kratos in God of War Adaptation

Ryan Hurst, widely recognized for his standout performance in Sons of Anarchy, has been cast as the legendary Kratos in the upcoming God of War television series. The show’s narrative is expected to mirror the events of the franchise’s two most recent game installments, chronicling the epic journey of Kratos alongside his son, Atreus. Production goals include a faithful recreation of the original lore and characters while maintaining the gritty, somber atmosphere that defined the source material.

Project development is currently gaining significant momentum, with principal photography slated to begin this March in Vancouver. Fred Toue, who previously garnered acclaim for his work on the Fallout adaptation, is attached as one of the directors for the series.

Interestingly, Hurst is already a familiar figure within the franchise, having provided the voice and motion capture for the Norse god Thor in God of War Ragnarök. His transition from the god of thunder to the Ghost of Sparta is being hailed by the community as a masterstroke in casting.
