Rebecca Black recently collaborated with –196 Vodka Seltzer to reimagine a New York City gallery as a multi-sensory destination steeped in Tokyo’s vibrant urban culture.
The exclusive event, titled “Konbini Backroom,” took place on Thursday evening, March 26. The rising pop star headlined the night with a curated DJ set, anchoring a brand experience designed around the thrill of uncovering the extraordinary in everyday settings. Upon entry, guests found themselves in a meticulously recreated konbini—the iconic Japanese convenience store—stocked with authentic snacks and chilled cans of –196 Vodka Seltzer in Peach, Lemon, Grapefruit, and Strawberry flavors.
The convenience store served as a clever facade. A hidden, speakeasy-style entrance eventually funneled attendees into a high-energy dance space where Black took control of the atmosphere. During her hour-long performance, she seamlessly blended her own hit, “Sugar Water Cyanide,” with nostalgic club classics from Jennifer Lopez and Fergie.
