Beyond The Music Announces Major Relocation for 2026 Edition
The 2026 iteration of Beyond The Music is set to inhabit an unprecedented setting, shifting its headquarters to an iconic new landscape. According to an exclusive report from Billboard U.K., the third installment of the global music conference and festival will converge at Salford’s MediaCity from October 7–9, 2026.
This expansion aims to unite visionary leaders across the realms of music, tech, culture, and governance. The transition comes as Greater Manchester reinforces its status as a global cultural powerhouse. The region recently celebrated a landmark year, serving as the backdrop for both the 2026 BRIT Awards and the MOBO Awards at the Co-op Live arena. Notably, the 2026 BRITs marked the first time the ceremony was hosted outside of London, with the 50th-anniversary edition in 2027 already slated to return to the North.
A Centenary Celebration in Salford
The festival’s programming will fully integrate the MediaCity ecosystem, utilizing the state-of-the-art dock10 studios, the Quayside district, and various historic grassroots venues across Salford. Attendees can expect a curated schedule featuring high-level keynote addresses, emerging talent showcases, and cross-industry networking hubs.
The event is strategically timed to coincide with Salford’s centenary celebrations, commemorating 100 years since the Royal Charter granted the area its city status. As a vital pillar of the Greater Manchester metropolitan area, Salford’s heritage will be a central theme of the festivities.
Focusing on the Future: The All Content AI Summit
A cornerstone of the 2026 event will be the All Content AI Summit, hosted by Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham. Scheduled for October 9, the summit seeks to bring together policymakers and creative practitioners to establish a unified, “rights-first” framework for artificial intelligence. This initiative follows the U.K. government’s recent decision to scrap “opt-out” licensing models, a move widely applauded by the creative community for protecting intellectual property.
“Greater Manchester has always stood at the vanguard of cultural evolution. Beyond The Music serves as a critical platform for our creative sectors to confront modern challenges head-on,” stated Mayor Andy Burnham. “By hosting the All Content AI Summit, we are fostering a space to navigate ethical technological shifts while ensuring creators’ rights remain sacrosanct.”
Burnham emphasized that the move to MediaCity reflects a commitment to sustainable growth. “We are dedicated to ensuring the people behind the music are rewarded and recognized. By balancing rapid innovation with responsibility, we are cementing our region’s role as the heartbeat of the global creative economy.”
Accessibility and Tickets
In a bid to foster inclusivity within the industry, organizers have introduced the “Pay It Forward” scheme. This initiative is designed to provide access for aspiring professionals and students who may face financial barriers, ensuring the next generation of industry leaders can participate in the conference.
Registration and ticket sales are currently live via the official Beyond The Music website. Further details regarding the artist lineup and speaker roster will be disclosed in the coming months.
