Joseph Maus, the brother and bandmate of John Maus, died yesterday in Cesis, Latvia whereas on tour together with his brother. The information was confirmed by Maus’ label Ribbon Music. “We offer our deepest and most sincere condolences to Joe’s family, Robert Sue, Kevin, Stephanie, and John Maus, as well as his bandmates Luke and Jonathan, his friends, and all those suffering this tragic loss,” the label wrote. The explanation for dying is at present unknown. Joe Maus was an intern at Pitchfork in 2009. All of John Maus’ forthcoming tour dates have been cancelled.
