Illinois: Truck Stops

The initial glimpse of the forthcoming Illinois map expansion for American Truck Simulator has just been revealed! Today, we’re excited to showcase some truck stops our mapping team has been diligently crafting, so let’s dive in.

Truck stops play a crucial role in the trucking industry, providing more than just refueling spots. They offer long-haul drivers a convenient place to rest and comply with mandatory breaks after eight hours of driving.

The initial trio of truck stops is situated near Bloomington, right in the heart of the Prairie State. Each stop draws inspiration from real-world locations, and our design team is committed to achieving meticulous detail in their recreations.

One location is found along the I-55, featuring a large gas station, parking for both trucks and personal vehicles, and even a small dog park! Another is positioned on US-150, not as expansive but equipped with essentials like a supermarket and a restaurant. Heading northwest from Bloomington, you’ll uncover a third stop near Peoria, offering extensive truck parking.

Moving northward in Illinois, you might encounter another truck stop near Rockford along I-39, boasting plentiful parking spaces for trucks.

We’re also spotlighting southern Illinois! On the Dwight D. Eisenhower Highway, there’s a charming truck stop near Rend Lake, perfect for appreciating the scenic Illinois landscapes. Traveling further north on this route leads to another inviting stop near Effingham.
