Crimson Desert
About this game
In Crimson Desert, Kliff combines sword, shield and axe attacks with archery and wrestling moves. A grapple can turn a weapon combo into a throw, while a dodge or counter creates a way to continue after an enemy attacks. Equipment and elemental enhancements change the combinations available.
Rival factions contest the continent of Pywel. After the Black Bears attack, Kliff searches for surviving Greymanes and rebuilds his faction. The journey crosses settlements, plains, deserts and mountains. Resources help expand the camp and improve equipment, while hunting, fishing and cooking provide supplies between battles.

- Bosses and rematches — foes range from ruthless warriors to vicious beasts. Any defeated boss can be fought again via the Memory Fragment at the battle site, at its original strength or scaled to your progress.
- Oongka and Damiane — both join Kliff as the story unfolds, each with their own fighting style, weapons and skills. You can play as them to explore Pywel and take on quests outside the main story.
- Cliffs, gliding and mounts — Kliff climbs cliffs and walls, then leaps off and glides. Besides horses, he can fly a dragon and pilot mechs, and patches added tamed bears, wolves, tigers and wyverns.
- The Greymane camp — the road back to Pailune starts here. You can expand and furnish the camp and send the comrades you track down on missions, exploration and excavation runs.
- The Abyss — the mysterious realm above Pywel is full of puzzles, and the imbalance inside it threatens the entire world.

Reviews
This game reminds me of how games used to be before monetization took over the gaming world.
The game is not perfect, but it is insanely fun and very easy to lose track of time while playing.
There are a ton of systems in this game. Not all of them are perfect, but they are all enjoyable and they all add to the overall experience rather than feeling like filler. The combat, which is clearly the main focus of the game, is incredible. You can fight unarmed, use elemental abilities, use different weapons, and build different fighting styles around them.
I haven’t felt this way since Skyrim.
I’m 12hrs into the game, at the time of this post, and I still have no desire to leave the starting town. There is so much content packed into the environment, the NPC interactions, and the mechanics of this gem of a game. This game is so dense I can tell I’ll be playing this for years to come and still be discovering new things about it.
The visuals are stunning. I frequently stop to admire the scenery and details of the assets and character models. I have a mid-tier gaming PC, and the game runs great. 80-90fps on quality settings, which is fine for me.
Just finished the game and felt I had to write a small summary.
Ever experienced the feeling of an amazing holiday but when you return home and you drop down in your chair and sigh with a content relief? That’s Crimson Desert for you.
It has been years upon years that I’ve played a game that scratched every surface. It has so much to offer that summing them up would turn this into an essay.
I tend to get bored or burned out midway a long game and this wasn’t the case. I lost count how many times I got sidetracked from my initial objective and that’s what makes this vast open world so charming and rewarding.
This game starts a bit slow, but once it opens up it really pulls you in. The visuals are honestly insane, and the performance surprised me a lot. Running it at 2K ultra with DLSS Quality and getting a smooth 70–80 FPS feels great. Controls are a bit rough at first, especially on keyboard and mouse, but you get used to it over time.
Combat is super satisfying, even though I’m still messing up combos here and there. Riding around on horseback feels amazing, kinda reminds me of RDR2. There’s just so much to do too. You can fly, pet and tame animals, solve puzzles, do some stealing, hunt bounties… it keeps things fresh.
Definitely not for everyone, but it’s 100% my kind of game.
CRIMSON DESERT
This game is simply spectacular, it impresses right from the start with gorgeous, highly detailed visuals and a world full of life, thanks to its rich and diverse fauna. The map is vast, filled with unique regions and an incredible amount of things to do, from missions and side activities to free exploration and hidden challenges.
The puzzles are one of the game’s highlights, you’ll find them both on the ground and in the sky, inside the Abyss, and many of them are genuinely brilliant. On top of that, the world is packed with secret locations scattered across the entire map, making exploration addictive and rewarding.
