“Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever” said Mahatma Gandhi about education inspiring people never stop learning throughout a life. He was right by conveying his ideas about education and now we witness that concept “ Lifelong education” is highly appreciated and welcomed and Al-Farabi National University is one of the distinguished higher institutions that can provide ever-unbound and unfettered education in Kazakhstan for all levels of education.
Being a master student at Faculty of General Linguistics and Worlds Languages, I have been astonished by the quality of lessons conducted, material delivered and social works that are being done for us by the representatives of Al-Farabi National University.
Therefore, I reckon that no doubt Al-Farabi National University justifiably gained it’s right position as the best university in Kazakhstan and one of the brilliant one among 200 universities in Central Asia. Moreover, this year Al-Farabi National University ranked 210 in QS World University Ranking
In these achievements there is a certain contribution from the Department of General Linguistics and World Languages of the Faculty of Philology and World Languages. The department was founded in 1937 by such prominent personalities as M. Auezov, A. Margulan, B. Kenzhebaev, M. Balakaev and has a long history. Mukhtar Auezov — Academician, writer whose works take an honorable place in the golden fund of world literature, worked at our faculty for about 30 years.
The faculty comprises 190 teachers, 6 academicians, ,4 honored scientists of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 1 national writer of Kazakhstan, 11 members of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan, 37 doctors of sciences, professors; 74 candidates of sciences and associate professors.
It is also worth noting that Al-Farabi National University is the leader in the number of state scholarships. In addition to state grants, university rector’s grants are awarded annually and Al-Farabi National University has a flexible system of discounts and benefits for paid tuition.
Now being an experienced master student, I have no regrets about my choice, because I have witnessed immaculate level of education provided, impeccable reputation that university is always proving by delivering lessons at a high standard, raising and developing multi-faced learners and always striving for spotless methods and approaches not only in teaching but for enhancing international mobility programs, intensifying students’ active social life as well.
I assert that Al-Farabi National University graduates have high competitiveness in the employment market, which is proved by practice. If you look at the list of university graduates, you may encounter vast majority of dignitaries, the elite of Kazakhstani society such as ministers, deputies, mayors of various levels, rectors of most universities in Kazakhstan, heads of large industrial enterprises and banks both in our country and abroad.
Hence, Al-Farabi National University is a perfect place to enrich yourself, meet interesting people, elevate one’s world outlook and make valuable research and contribution to your future.
