Avril S Predictable. Pointless. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/05/22 Full Review Alexander L I was barely awake for most of the movie. Was what’s the objective? Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 08/03/22 Full Review Diane A This movie was awful! Such a stupid, unbelievable plot! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/02/22 Full Review Linda M The movie was overall very good. The ending had something to be desired but the movie itself was entertaining and suspenfull. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/02/22 Full Review Danny Z Okay so this was a good movie. I would have to say that the cinematography, acting, and writing are all phenomenal. The story has excellent closure and is incredibly interesting throughout. HOWEVER, this movie fucked me up. The psychological horror is so incredibly disturbing that its a day later and I'm still pissed off by it. I am not easily disturbed by horror movies because they usually fall into two categories: either 1) they're not that scary but they're pretty realistic, or 2) they're very scary but unrealistic. The reason this movie is so awful is because it falls at the uncanny valley of horror movies. The story is very wacky but somewhat plausible in my mind, especially with modern biological technology. But then we get to the horror. THE HORROR. Oh my god it is terrible. Not like it's poorly done, just that its absolutely disturbing and disgusting. The foreshadowing at the beginning of the movie put me in a place where I knew that Margaret was abused. Then her story about how she was abused really messed me up because of how absolutely terrible and plausible it was. Like, what David did falls in line with social manipulation strategies that you see in cults. Then Margaret's falling apart all seemed incredibly plausible for someone in her mental and emotional state. Finally, the fucking gore at the end. Holy shit. I am still angry because of that disgusting shit. I closed my eyes for most of it and just the audio fucked me up. This is what I mean by the horror was in the uncanny valley of horror films, it seemed plausible but yet was incredibly horrible. I would give this movie a higher rating, but it made me so angry by how well they were able to pull this off that I only gave it 4 stars. Stephen Romei The Australian It’s a full-on movie that is not for the faint-of-heart. Rated: 3.5/5 Dec 17, 2022 Full Review Leslie Felperin Financial Times Hall, with a great assist from Roth, manages to sell the ending through sheer thespian skill... producing something that lingers for days in the mind like a bad, grisly dream, and also says something profound about the scars left by abusive relationships. Rated: 4/5 Dec 15, 2022 Full Review Dylan Roth Observer Resurrection is an unapologetically weird film, an anxiety engine that tightens like the spring of a wind-up toy for 100 minutes without ever slowing down or letting go. Dec 14, 2022 Full Review Federico Furzan Movie-Blogger.com Resurrection subtly inserts the subject into its story and departs from something very universal. But then it progresses into a story direction that takes trauma to another level and gives shape to a character resolution that will blow your mind. Rated: 4/5 Sep 7, 2023 Full Review Hector A. Gonzalez The Movie Buff A bit of Andrzej Żuławski’s Possession mixed with the disorientation of The Vanishing. And Rebecca Hall? Better than ever before. Rated: A- Jul 29, 2023 Full Review Zach Pope Zach Pope Reviews Rebecca Hall gives an unhinged & INCREDIBLE performance within #Resurrection. One that should establish her as one of the best actresses working today. She has one monologue in this that completely had me glued to the screen. Jul 25, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews
