Acid Mammoth — Psychedelic Wasteland

…the guitars of Acid Mammoth have something special. They are huge and full of fuzz, and know when to be more melodic and when not to be. But for me, the biggest improvement in this album are the vocals. I felt that the vocals in ‘Under Acid Hoof’ were too much like Ozzy, leaving no space for Babalis to experiment with his voice and find his own style. With ‘Caravan’ even though he still sounds like Ozzy, he shows he can be more himself, helping Acid Mammoth to find their personality.

…‘Psychedelic Wasteland’ brings Acid Mammoth to darker waters. A main riff that reminds you of the main theme of the 1980s movie ‘Dune’ by David Lynch. It has got a more serious tone than what Acid Mammoth usually offer, and it reminded me of Pallbearer and Khemmis. The song’s solos are out of this world, cleverly placed in key parts to take the song to another level and help it grow without being repetitive.

#doommetal.
