Yaeji has released a new song and video using samples and visuals from PAC-MAN. “PAC-TIVE,” which also features the cultural collective DiAN, launches a revival push for the retro game, designed to encourage fans to “stay engaged and active,” according to a press release. Directed by Aphex Twin collaborator WEiRDCORE, the animated video stars Yaeji’s “animated companion dog Woofa” as a PAC-MAN hybrid, the press release adds. Check it out below.
Yaeji said: “PAC-MAN is a game my parents and I can both remember playing in arcades growing up. It connects me to my previous generation and possibly to future generations too.” Her last album, WHAT WE KNEW 우리가 그려왔던, came out last year. She has since released a video for “When in Summer, I Forget About the Winter.”
