Young Thug was arrested on Sunday and is facing felony charges. It was initially reported by TMZ that the rapper was booked on one count of marijuana possession. Police say that Thug and two of his associates were pulled over due to tinted windows on the vehicle. According to a report from the Brookhaven Police Department in Georgia, Thug has been charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute as well as possession of Xanax, codeine, and ecstasy. He’s also been charged with two counts of firearm possession. Police also said that they found almost $50,000 dollars in cash while searching the vehicle. Pitchfork has reached out to Young Thug’s representatives for comment.
Earlier this year, Thug was cleared of felony drug and gun charges that stemmed from a 2015 police raid on his home in Sandy Springs, Georgia.
