Electronic musician and former Battles frontman Tyondai Braxton has shared two new songs, marking his first new music in five years. Listen to “Dia” and “Phonolydian” below via Nonesuch.

Braxton recorded “Dia” and “Phonolydian” at his home studio in Bearsville, New York. According to a press release, the singles are the first releases in a forthcoming series of new music that will continue through next year. Braxton has also announced a residency at Public Records in Brooklyn titled Multiplay. The residency will consist of three performances, taking place January 12 (with Leila Bordreuil), February 9 (with Lea Bertucci and Ben Vida), and March 16 (with Greg Fox). Find out more here.

Braxton issued his five-song Oranged Out EP back in 2016. His last full-length was 2015’s Hive1.
