Travis Scott agreed to perform at the Super Bowl LIII halftime show on the condition that the NFL will join him in making a charitable donation to an organization fighting for social justice, the rapper revealed in a statement. In partnership with the NFL, Scott is making a $500,000 donation to the Dream Corps—a Van Jones-founded organization that backs social justice efforts.

“I back anyone who takes a stand for what they believe in,” Scott said in a statement. “I know being an artist that it’s in my power to inspire. So before confirming the Super Bowl Halftime performance, I made sure to partner with the NFL on this important donation. I am proud to support Dream Corps and the work they do that will hopefully inspire and promote change.”

Scott was previously announced as a performer alongside Maroon 5. Today, the NFL confirmed that Big Boi will also perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show. This year’s Super Bowl takes place in Atlanta on February 3.

A report from Variety, published shortly after the announcement that Scott would be performing, claimed that JAY-Z was reportedly trying to convince Travis not to perform during the halftime program. JAY-Z has been vocal about his support of former quarterback and political activist Colin Kaepernick, and previously referenced turning down the Super Bowl on his song “Apeshit.”
