Last year, John Darnielle of the Mountain Goats released the new song “Going Back to California” as part of a fundraiser for the Carolina Abortion Fund. He noted that the song was part of a collection he’d written about Ozzy Osbourne, explaining, “I’m very fond of these sad songs about Ozzy which will probably never see formal release, and am so happy to give this one a home in the world.” Today, Darnielle has shared more of those songs with a new EP called Marsh Witch Visions. In addition to four songs about Ozzy, it also includes a demo of “Rain in Soho,” the opening track from the band’s latest LP, Goths. Download the EP on Bandcamp, and stream it below.
