As teased, the 1975 have released a new song called “Love It If We Made It.” Listen to the track, along with frontman Matty Healy’s interview with Zane Lowe on Beats 1, below. The track references the death of Lil Peep (“Rest in peace Lil Peep/The poetry is in the streets”) and quotes Donald Trump at two points: “Immigration liberal kitsch/Kneeling on a pitch/‘I moved on her like a bitch!!’” and “Excited to be indicted/Unrequited/House with seven pools/Thank you, Kanye, very cool” (which quotes Trump’s tweet in response to Kanye West announcing his support). Earlier in the song, Matty Healy sings, “Selling melanin and then suffocating black men.”

“Love It If We Made It” follows the 1975’s previously released song “Give Yourself a Try.” Healy recently revealed that the band’s upcoming album, A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships, will tentatively arrive in October. They intend to follow it with another album, Notes on a Conditional Form, in May 2019.

The 1975’s second studio album, I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it, came out in 2016. In December 2017, they released the live album DH00278.
