In August 2017, New York’s historic Webster Hall, built in 1868, closed its doors following a sale to AEG Presents and Brooklyn Sports and Entertainment. The venue’s director of operations, Gerard McNamee, wrote in a statement, “[Webster Hall] will be closed for an undisclosed period of time for demo, reno, and transition to corporate ownership under Barclays/AEG/Bowery Presents.”

Now, it looks like the venue will soon reopen. On New Year’s Eve, Webster Hall’s social media accounts shared a video simply captioned, “See ya in 2019!” A newsletter sent from the venue today (January 2) confirms, “While updates are still underway, we are pleased to say that Webster Hall will return in Spring 2019.” Check out the tweet below, and sign up for their newsletter at Webster Hall’s website.

Additional details about the reopening are currently unclear. Webster Hall's last concert prior to its closure was performed by Action Bronson on August 10, 2017.
