Last night, Pearl Jam played the first of a pair of hometown shows at Seattle’s Safeco Field. During the band’s set, frontman Eddie Vedder performed an acoustic cover of the White Stripes’ classic “We’re Going to Be Friends.” Vedder dedicated the song to Seattle’s teachers. It’s not the first time Vedder has covered the White Stripes this summer. Just last month, Pearl Jam played a cover of “Seven Nation Army” in Portugal.
