John C. Reilly—the actor who has appeared in Boogie Nights, Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, Step Brothers, and much more—recently put his rap skills on display, as Rolling Stone points out. During an appearance on SiriusXM’s “Sway in the Morning,” Reilly freestyled over the beat from Kanye and Common’s 2007 collaboration “Southside” with a verse that took significant portions from Spoonie Gee’s 1981 single “Spoonie Is Back.” Watch it go down below.

The new freestyle is not John C. Reilly’s first brush with the music world: He previously appeared on A$AP Mob’s Cozy Tapes, Vol. 2. Additionally, he fronts a folk group called John Reilly & Friends. He’s also been on Andrew Bird’s Facebook Live music show.
