Ryan Adams to Release 3 New Albums in 2019

Big Colors, Wednesdays, and one more are on the way

Ryan Adams has revealed plans to release three studio albums this year. “Remember that year when I released 3 records,” he tweeted. “Let’s do it again.” Today, Capitol Records announced a 2019 release for Big Colors, an album title Adams has previously teased. According to MSNBC anchor Katy Tur, Big Colors will be the first of the three. Politico’s Jake Sherman claims that Adams’ second record will be called Wednesdays, featuring appearances from Jason Isbell, Emmylou Harris, and Benmont Tench. Details about the third album title has not yet been revealed. See the tweets and album artwork below.

Adams later shared more information on Big Colors, including its track listing, via the Washington Post newsletter. It’s due out April 19.

The trio of releases follows 2017’s Prisoner. He’s since contributed to the Tegan and Sara tribute LP The Con X: Covers, shared the Valentine’s Day single “Baby I Love You,” and dropped a Prisoner B-sides collection. He also penned new songs for the local channel Denver7 News and the radio channel 105.5: The Colorado Sound.
