It’s that time of year—the long list of 2018 nominees for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has arrived. Radiohead and Rage Against the Machine have been nominated in their first year of eligibility (meaning their first official recordings were released in 1992). Kate Bush, Nina Simone, Eurythmics, Judas Priest, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Dire Straits, and Moody Blues were nominated for the first time this year. Previous nominees Depeche Mode, LL Cool J, MC5, the Zombies, the Meters, the Cars, Link Wray, Bon Jovi, Rufus with Chaka Khan, and J. Geils Band have all been nominated once again. Fans can vote for their favorite nominees at the Rock Hall’s website tomorrow. The 2018 inductees will be revealed in December.

It’s worth noting that in an interview earlier this year, Radiohead expressed disinterest in the Rock Hall. “I don’t care,” said Jonny Greenwood. “Maybe it’s a cultural thing that I really don’t understand. I mean, from the outside it looks like... it’s quite a self-regarding profession anyway. And anything that heightens that just makes me feel even more uncomfortable.” Thom Yorke, Philip Selway, and Ed O’Brien also seemed apathetic about a potential induction. Colin Greenwood, by contrast, said, “I’d be grateful if we got in.”

Previous nominees omitted from this year’s ballot include Kraftwerk, Bad Brains, Jane’s Addiction, Nine Inch Nails, the Smiths, and Janet Jackson.

Earlier this year, Pearl Jam were inducted into the Rock Hall (and paid homage to a ton of great bands who haven’t been inducted yet). Tupac was honored with a speech and performance from Snoop Dogg. Journey, Yes, and Nile Rodgers were also inducted.
