Queen Movie Bohemian Rhapsody Becomes Highest-Earning Music Biopic of All Time

The film has outpaced the N.W.A biopic Straight Outta Compton, earning over $600 million globally

The Queen movie Bohemian Rhapsody has become the highest-grossing music biopic of all time, Deadline reports. As of Wednesday, December 12, the film has earned $608.7 million globally. The previous record-holder was the 2015 N.W.A biopic Straight Outta Compton, which took in $202 million globally, according to Billboard.

Bohemian Rhapsody also broke records for domestic and international earnings, individually: The film grossed $175.7 million in North America and $433 million across the rest of the world. Previously, Straight Outta Compton earned $161 million domestically and $40 abroad.
