Pusha-T’s Toronto Concert Erupts Into Onstage Fight

Pusha-T’s performance Tuesday night at Toronto’s Danforth Music Hall was interrupted when attendees appeared to rush the stage. Video from the event (below) shows a physical altercation taking place, though Pusha himself doesn’t appear to be touched. Pusha departed the stage and eventually returned to perform “Infrared”—a track that features subliminal shots at Drake. At one point, Pusha addressed the crowd and alleged that people were “paid” to throw beer at him. Pitchfork has reached out to Pusha and Drake’s representatives for comment.

A spokesperson for the Toronto Police Department confirmed to Pitchfork that they received a call for an assault in progress at the event with reports that performers at the venue were attacked onstage “by a number of people.” Three people were sent to the hospital in connection with the incident with non-life threatening injuries. Pusha-T was not specifically named in the Toronto Police’s statement.

After the show ended, a man who had attended was hospitalized with life-threatening stab wounds, TMZ reports. Police have given no indication that the stabbing is connected to the stage-rushing incident, according to TMZ.

Pusha and Drake’s feud slowed down earlier this year following “The Story of Adidon,” but the conversation surrounding the beef was reopened when Drake addressed Pusha and the song in a conversation on LeBron James’ HBO show. Last month, Pusha claimed that the source of information for “Adidon” was Drake’s longtime producer Noah “40” Shebib.

During Pusha’s set at Tyler, the Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw Festival this month, the words “Fuck Drake” flashed on the screen behind him. Pusha later tweeted that he didn’t approve that visual, blaming a “corny tech dude” who worked for the festival. “Dissing anybody on screen isn’t part of my show,” he wrote.
