Sonic Youth are the latest band to team up with online instrument marketplace Reverb to sell off some gear and memorabilia, making select guitars, effects pedals, and other items available directly to fans and collectors. Among the items for sale are a Japanese-made Fender Jazzmaster (“used by [Thurston] Moore for over a decade”), a Fender Precision bass used by Kim Gordon in Sonic Youth as well her solo career, and hundreds of effects pedals used by the band throughout their career. Preview some of the items at Reverb. Items go on sale October 30.
In addition, Sonic Youth are making numerous test pressings of albums including Daydream Nation and Goo available via Reverb LP. Those are available now; check them out here. This year marks the 30-year anniversary of Daydream Nation. To celebrate, the band recently announced multiple film events celebrating the album.
