Sonic Youth have announced a new set of “30 Years of Daydream Nation” film events to take place across North America. Find the dates below. The first installment of the event, which celebrates the band’s landmark 1988 album Daydream Nation, takes place at Portland’s Hollywood Theatre on October 20. While the program for each event differs, they’re centered around a concert film directed by Lance Bangs of the band performing the album in full. They’ll also include films made surrounding the release of Daydream Nation: Charles Atlas’ 1989 documentary Put Blood in the Music and a film featuring footage of the band on Dutch television called On Rust. Bangs is set to appear at each event, and while the lineup changes depending on the date, speakers include Kim Gordon, Lee Ranaldo, and Steve Shelley. Find the dates below.
