Nile Rodgers has been tapped to curate this year’s Meltdown. The London festival takes place in Southbank Centre venues from August 3-11. Previous curators for the fest include M.I.A. Scott Walker, David Bowie, Yoko Ono, and last year, the Cure’s Robert Smith. In a press release, Rodgers says, “Anyone who knows my career knows that Funk, Disco, Jazz, Soul, Classical, POP, New Wave, R&B, Fusion, Punk Rock, Afrobeat, Electronic and Dance music all play a role and you can expect that to be reflected in the performances we are planning. It’s all about the groove and this August everyone in London will be dancing to incredible live performances!"

Rodgers and CHIC released their ninth studio album, It’s About Time, last September. Revisit Pitchfork’s “In Sight Out” talk with Rodgers.
