Mac DeMarco has announced he is launching his own record label. It is called Mac’s Record Label. “My friend Jen who plays drums in The Courtneys gave me the name,” he said in a press release. DeMarco has thus far released music via longtime label Captured Tracks. The new label will be distributed through Universal Music Group’s Caroline.

In addition to the label news, Mac has also announced his first-ever solo tour, the “Purple Bobcat Next to River Tour.” The new dates begin following his run of full-band U.S. and European shows this fall. He’s set to kick off the solo tour with a performance at the Tropicalia Fest in Long Beach, California. The first headlining solo show goes down at the Valley Bar in Phoenix, Arizona, on November 12. For his EU and solo tours, Mac has partnered with PLUS1 to dedicate a dollar of every ticket sale to benefit local Girls Rock Camps. Check out his solo dates below, and find tickets here.

Mac DeMarco’s most recent full-length album This Old Dog was issued last year. He is playing Pitchfork Music Festival Paris, taking place November 1-3 at La Grande Halle de la Villette. Tickets are available now.
