Mac Miller’s Cause of Death Revealed

A mix of fentanyl, cocaine, and alcohol killed the rapper, according to the coroner's office

On September 7, Mac Miller (real name Malcolm McCormick) was found dead at the age of 26. Now, the official cause of Mac Miller’s death has been revealed, as TMZ and US Weekly report. According to the L.A. County Coroner's Office, he died from a toxic mix of fentanyl, cocaine, and alcohol. According to TMZ and US Weeklyn, the death is being categorized as an accidental overdose by the coroner's office.

Following news of Mac Miller’s passing, collaborators and figures from the entertainment world shared tributes to and remembrances of to the Pittsburgh rapper. Last week, the benefit concert Mac Miller: A Celebration of Life took place in L.A. It featured Travis Scott, Chance the Rapper, SZA, Vince Staples, Thundercat, Anderson .Paak, Miguel, Action Bronson, Earl Sweatshirt, Ty Dolla $ign, ScHoolboy Q, John Mayer, and more, and raised money for the Mac Miller Circles Fund, a nonprofit organization that supports youth arts and community-building programs in Miller's hometown of Pittsburgh.
