Offset’s debut solo album will be released December 14, his 27th birthday, as the New York Times confirms. The night of the announcement, he also dropped a new track called “Red Room.” Update: The track has been removed.
Offset will be the third member of Migos to release a solo album this year—Quavo’s QUAVO HUNCHO was released in October, while Takeoff’s solo debut The Last Rocket arrived last month. A title has yet to be announced.
Elsewhere in the interview, Offset discussed the seriousness of the May car crash that left him with a broken eye socket and other wounds. He also talked about early life and growing up without his father, as well as his newfound family life with Cardi B. At one point in the profile, his mother Latabia spoke about his early career as a child actor, dancing in music videos for acts such as TLC and Whitney Houston. (Offset confirmed that detail in a subsequent photo on Instagram.)
Offset recently appeared on Metro Boomin’s album Not All Heroes Wear Capes. He and the other Migos appeared on “Carpool Karaoke” last month as well.
