Justine Skye—the singer, actress, and model—has accused Sheck Wes of abuse. In a pair of tweets posted Monday night (February 11), she referred to Sheck Wes as her “abuser.” She also claimed that Sheck Wes and a group of men stalked her and her friends and then attacked them. “You’re pathetic Sheck and you beat women,” she wrote. “You hit your girl before me and you’ll do it again.”

Sheck Wes addressed the allegations on Twitter in the early morning hours of February 12. “I’ve chosen to remain silent until now out of respect for actual victims of abuse,” Sheck wrote. “But I cannot stand by while lies are repeatedly told about me. I never hit or beat any women and I did not beat up or jump anybody.”

Following Sheck Wes’ statement, a back-and-forth ensued on the artists’ Twitter accounts. “I literally have footage of you jumping over the fence of my crib to attack me Sheck,” Justine Skye wrote, “your lies are even more disrespectful.” Sheck reiterated, “I never hit you!”

Representatives from Sheck Wes’ legal and management team issued the following statement on Tuesday evening:

We are actively investigating the allegations against Sheck Wes and are fiercely standing by him through this. He has denied any wrongdoing whatsoever or violence of any kind and we believe him. He will defend himself against this serious defamation of character with any and all legal remedies available and for now will leave this with the legal process. Sheck is a strong supporter of the rights and liberties of all people and is appalled by these wrongful allegations and attempts to assassinate his character. He will no longer sit by and allow these falsehoods to live on any further.

Pitchfork has reached out to Justine Skye’s representatives for comment.

On October 23, Justine Skye opened up about experiencing domestic violence in an Instagram post, but didn’t name anyone. “Recently I’ve had one of the scariest/heart breaking experiences in my life and it’s still hard for me to talk about,” she wrote. “I felt stupid, angry, depressed...blamed myself. Trying to figure out how someone who claimed they loved me so much could find such evil within themselves to hurt me mentally and physically.” She also liked a series of tweets that specifically named Sheck Wes as her abuser.

“I never said who it was because I knew it wouldn’t matter to a lot of you,” she wrote on Twitter in November, explaining why she never named Sheck Wes specifically. “That’s just the reality of it. But I made a video about it in hopes that it can inspire someone else get away [from] their abusive partner. That was my goal.”

In her tweets, Skye mentioned that she was on a walk “with my friends and my man” when the alleged incident occurred. Skye is in a relationship with GoldLink, who appeared to address the allegations against Sheck Wes in a song called “Justine’s Interlude” earlier this year. GoldLink’s representatives offered Pitchfork no comment.
