High on Fire have announced a new album, Electric Messiah. It marks the group’s first album since 2015’s Luminiferous. They have also shared the album’s title track. In a statement, Matt Pike said the song is inspired by Mötörhead’s late frontman Lemmy: “The song is me telling the world that I could never fill Lemmy’s shoes because Lemmy’s Lemmy. I wanted to pay homage to him in a great way.” Listen below (via NPR). Electric Messiah is due out October 5 via eOne.

The band will tour throughout the rest of the year. Check out their itinerary below, and find tickets here.

Earlier this year, Matt Pike released a new album with Sleep, The Sciences. It was one of Pitchfork’s Best Metal Albums of 2018 (So Far).
