Dolly Parton, Kevin Morby, Devendra Banhart, More Write Songs About Constitutional Amendments

27: The Most Perfect Album will also feature original tracks by Cherry Glazerr, Torres, Caroline Shaw, and more

WNYC Studios’ political podcast “More Perfect” has announced a new compilation album called 27: The Most Perfect Album. The LP features 27 original songs inspired by the 27 Amendments to the U.S. Constitution. It’s out September 18. Kevin Morby is the first to share a new song. Along with Morby, the compilation includes artists like Dolly Parton, Devendra Banhart, Cherry Glazerr, Torres, Kash Doll, Caroline Shaw, the Slants, and more.

27: The Most Perfect Alnum drops the same day “More Perfect” launches its third season, which is set to break down each amendment and apply it to the current political climate. “The mission of this album is to take these sometimes forgotten words and animate them through the power of music,” the podcast creator and host Jad Abumrad said in a statement.
