Frog Eyes called it quits back in March, announcing their final studio album and a last run of live shows. Those concerts included a performance at the Moroccan Lounge in Los Angeles on July 3. Now, the band have announced a new live album, captured that night and described by themselves as a “‘definitive’ Frog Eyes document.” Live at the Moroccan Lounge is out on September 28. Check out “The Idiot’s Idiotic Storm,” a bonus track taken from the sessions of their last album Violet Psalms, below via Stereogum.
“We included a personal essay that describes the night of the concert, and some of its shenanigans, and we included a photo to sweeten the deal,“ leader singer Carey Mercer wrote in a press release. “And, crucially, absolutely crucially: a bonus track, a song we took off of Violet Psalms, as I felt it was a bit too ‘on the nose’ towards the particulars of our times, as people say.”
