Netflix has announced a slew of new anime series, including a show titled “Yasuke” that is being executive-produced by Flying Lotus, as Deadline reports. FlyLo is also composing the soundtrack to the series, which will be directed by LeSean Thomas (“The Boondocks”) and stars Lakeith Stanfield (Sorry to Bother You, “Atlanta”) voicing the lead role. While details are scarce, “Yasuke” revolves around “a retired ronin who must take up his sword when he is charged with the task of transporting a mysterious child who dark forces want to eliminate.”

Last year, Flying Lotus soundtracked Blade Runner Black Out 2022, an animated short film that was written and directed by Shinichiro Watanabe (“Cowboy Bebop”). The producer recently shared a new song with Thundercat and BADBADNOTGOOD called “King of the Hill.”
