Bauhaus are set to release rare recordings from their very first session on January 26, 1979. The Bela Session arrives November 23 on Leaving/Stones Throw. The newly mastered five-track collection features their seminal work “Bela Lugosi’s Dead” and three previously unreleased songs: “Some Faces,” “Bite My Hip” (which was later reworked and released as “Lagarija Nick” in 1983), and “Boys (Original)” (which was later re-recorded and released as the B-side of “Bela Lugosi’s Dead”). The release also marks the first time “Bela Lugosi’s Dead” is streaming on digital streaming platforms. Listen below.

Additional Bauhaus vinyl reissues are slated to arrive later this year in celebration of the band’s 40th anniversary. Bauhaus frontman Peter Murphy and bassist David J are also reuniting for a tour of their debut In the Flat Field. They’ll play the record in full to celebrate the band’s 40th anniversary, as well as other “Bauhaus classics.” Find the tour dates at Peter Murphy’s website.
