Ariana Grande has dropped a new song called “thank u, next.” Check it out below. The track arrived 30 minutes before tonight’s episode of “Saturday Night Live.”

The song references Grande’s exes Pete Davidson as well as the late rapper Mac Miller. “Even though almost got married/And for Pete I’m so thankful,” Grande sings, “Wish I could say thank you to Malcolm/Cuz he was an angel.” Shortly after the death of Miller (whose legal first name was Malcolm) in September, Grande eulogized him in a post on her Instagram page. The track also references Big Sean and Ricky Alvarez, both of whom Grande dated in the past.

Davidson briefly spoke up about the breakup during “SNL”’s Weekend Update segment. “The truth is, it’s nobody’s business," he began. “Sometimes things just don’t work out. She’s a wonderful, strong person and I wish her all the happiness in the world.”

According to TMZ, the single is allegedly in response to the “SNL” promo video that aired earlier in the week, during which Davidson turned to musical guest Maggie Rogers and said, “Hey Maggie, I’m Pete. You wanna get married?” Davidson’s joke was a riff on his very real proposal to Grande on the day they met, when she hosted “SNL” in 2016. Grande and Davidson became engaged earlier this year and broke up in October.

“thank u, next” is Grande’s first single since she released her latest album Sweetener in August.
