Arcade Fire will return to Saturday Night Live on May 7. The band will perform as musical guests during the Benedict Cumberbatch–hosted episode. The upcoming SNL slot will mark the group’s fifth appearance on the show, having previously performed on the program in 2007, 2010, 2013, and 2018.
On Friday night (April 15), Arcade Fire performed at Coachella 2022. They will release their new album WE on May 6, the day before their SNL appearance. The follow-up to 2017’s Everything Now was produced by Nigel Godrich, Win Butler, and Régine Chassagne. So far, Arcade Fire have shared lead single “The Lightning I, II,” along with a music video directed by Emily Kai Bock. Shortly after announcing WE, Will Butler revealed that he left the group after the recording of the new album.
