A new Amy Winehouse biopic will begin shooting next year, The Guardian reports. The singer’s family, who strongly criticized the Oscar-winning 2015 documentary Amy, are on board to executive-produce the film, with Monumental Pictures’ Alison Owen—mother of Lily Allen—and Debra Hayward producing. Geoff Deane (Kinky Boots, It’s a Boy Girl Thing) is writing the script.
Proceeds from the film will benefit the Amy Winehouse Foundation. The family recently announced a hologram tour for the singer. A new documentary, Back to Black, is set to arrive next month.
